We want you to enjoy your time in Cardiff and at Peartree Languages. Our staff are always available to answer any questions you may have and to help you in any way we can. We are a small language school and you will be part of our family.

Please take note of the terms and conditions listed on this page.

English Language Courses

  • Students must take an assessment test before joining the school.
  • Students must provide a copy of their passport and visa (if applicable).
  • Students will be required to purchase a course book for study in addition to course fees.
  • A minimum of one month of classes must be paid in advance.
  • All classes / course fees must be paid in advance of the start date of the course.
  • Students coming from abroad must pay their course deposit as outlined in the payment schedule at the latest 2 weeks before arrival.
  • Classes and courses are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for other classes or services at the school.
  • Occasionally Peartree Languages offers special discount packages on courses. Such courses cannot be changed in any way and are non-refundable.
  • Payment can be made by cheque, cash or bank transfer. If paying by bank transfer please allow 4 days for the funds to reach our account.
  • Students must pay all bank charges if paying by bank transfer.
  • No classes will be booked, or homestay allocated until the deposit has been received.
  • All deposits are non-refundable.
  • Upon arrival students must pay the balance of their course in full. In the case of an early return to their country these fees are non-refundable.

Homestay

  • Please allow two weeks for Peartree Languages to allocate a suitable family.
  • The word ‘family’ can include a couple co-habiting, or a single person with or without children.
  • Students are required to pay all homestay costs in full at the start of the course.
  • Students may be required to pay a deposit to the host family which will be returned at the end of the stay.
  • Details of the host family will only be issued AFTER the deposit has been received by Peartree Languages.
  • In the event of a student leaving their English Language course at Peartree Languages they will also be required to leave the homestay accommodation.
  • On the last day, the host will perform a visual inspection of the student’s room.
  • Any breakages must be paid by the student.
  • Students who do not respect the rules of the host’s home will be asked to leave and no refund will be given.

Code of Conduct – All Language Students

At Peartree Languages we encourage students from all over the world, from all backgrounds to share knowledge and experiences to enrich the dynamic atmosphere of the school. We show respect to people of all nationalities, languages, races, cultures, sexual orientation and religions. We ask our students to do the same. We pride ourselves on equality and fairness and to ensure our high standards are met we have developed the Code of Conduct:
Peartree Languages will not tolerate;

  • Forceful projection of opinions.
  • Raised voices due to anger/strong feelings.
  • Impersonation or mockery of any language, race or individual student.

Any student who breaks this code of conduct and causes distress to a fellow student or tutor may be asked to leave Peartree Languages. No refund will be given.
