We choose our teachers because of their bright personality, qualifications and serious approach to learning. All our teachers are committed to creating a friendly and supportive learning environment that makes our students comfortable to use language.

All teachers at Peartree have qualifications to meet the standards of the British Council. Teachers are approachable, adaptable and sensitive to different learning styles and needs, aiming to make your learning experience enjoyable and productive. Teachers of courses such as English for Specific Purposes or examinations will also have additional experience and qualifications relevant to the course they are instructing.

Our academic management

Our academic management team is responsible for developing all our curricula in accordance with the requirements of the British Council and the individual needs of our students. We welcome feedback, act quickly to respond to any learning requests and believe in an open door policy.

For our adult students (16+) at our year round school our Academic Manager and Senior Teachers conduct initial objective setting meetings, regular progress tests and individual meetings, course book catch up sessions, lunchtime language classes, recommendations for post study and continuous input on how to develop language skills in a realistic context while being immersed in the UK.

On our Junior and mini-stay courses the academic team, including the Academic Manager and designated Course Coordinators, oversee all aspects of the learning programme from design to delivery, including the production of reports for parents, teachers and third parties (agencies, government organisations).

Why should I study English in Cardiff, Wales?

Choose Cardiff if you are looking for:

  • Very friendly, welcoming and tolerant people in a multicultural environment
  • Affordable living compared to other UK cities
  • A ‘human sized’ capital city. As the Capital City of Wales, Cardiff has a rich cultural heritage and at the same time is vibrant and diverse. People are hospitable and you will find it easy to make friends and mix with local people to practice your English.
  • Excellent transport links with the U.K. and abroad making it convenient if you want to ‘City hop’ (see more than one city while you are in the UK).
  • An alternative study destination

CardiffFrom the two thousand year old castle, to the chic and modern Cardiff Bay, Cardiff and its surrounding area has something for everyone, and an almost inexhaustible list of attractions to keep you busy during your stay, however long it may be. The busy City Centre has excellent shopping and many coffee shops, cafés, international restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs are on offer for your entertainment.

Cardiff is also one of Europe’s greenest cities, with many parks and open areas to enjoy and explore. All of these parks are full of history, open to the public and have free access.

Surrounded by mountains and close to a beautiful coastline and sandy beaches, Cardiff is the perfect starting point from which to explore the Welsh Countryside.

Following the Taff trail which starts from Pontcanna Fields (Cardiff City Centre) will lead you across 55 miles of open countryside which opens out into the spectacular mountains of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Peartree Languages organises excursions and partners with excursion providers to visit some of the most popular areas in Wales and the U.K. More details can’t be found at the ‘Welcome Desk’.
