We teach languages and we are really nice people!

Our teachers

We choose our teachers because of their bright personality, qualifications and serious approach to learning. All our teachers are committed to creating a friendly and supportive learning environment that makes our students comfortable to use language.

All teachers at Peartree have qualifications to meet the standards of the British Council. Teachers are approachable, adaptable and sensitive to different learning styles and needs, aiming to make your learning experience enjoyable and productive. Teachers of courses such as English for Specific Purposes or examinations will also have additional experience and qualifications relevant to the course they are instructing.

Our academic management

Our academic management team is responsible for developing all our curricula in accordance with the requirements of the British Council and the individual needs of our students. We welcome feedback, act quickly to respond to any learning requests and believe in an open door policy.

For our adult students (16+) at our year round school our Academic Manager and Senior Teachers conduct initial objective setting meetings, regular progress tests and individual meetings, course book catch up sessions, lunchtime language classes, recommendations for post study and continuous input on how to develop language skills in a realistic context while being immersed in the UK.

On our Junior and mini-stay courses the academic team, including the Academic Manager and designated Course Coordinators, oversee all aspects of the learning programme from design to delivery, including the production of reports for parents, teachers and third parties (agencies, government organisations).

Facilities at our year round centre:

  • Fibre broadband for students
  • Student room for study or relaxation
  • Free breakfast every morning (toast, jam, tea, coffee, hot chocolate)
  • Free hot and cold drinks all day
  • Range of DVDs and books to borrow
  • Free car park (2 hours) behind the school and free parking all day in the local area

Peartree Languages year round school and office is situated in Canton, a vibrant and lively inner-suburb of Cardiff. We have been in this location since we opened our doors in 2005 and we are well established in the area. Cardiff as the capital city of Wales, is located only 2 hours from London by train and one hour from Bristol. The city has its own airport with an excellent international connection and well built network of public transport.

We are only 5 minutes by car, 7 minutes by bus or 20 minutes on foot from the city centre of Cardiff (Cardiff Castle). The easiest way to move around the city is by bus or on foot. For bus information and timetables visit www.cardiffbus.com. The most convenient bus to reach our school is number 17/18, which stops at Tesco Metro, Canton.

You will have a lot of fun enjoying the many facilities that the area offers and communicating with local people (our friends and neighbours) in real life situations every day, while being only minutes away from the centre of a capital city.
